Schedule & Funding

Schedule

WYDOT has hired Jacobs, an engineering firm from Denver, to develop the design through grading plans and support WYDOT through the NEPA process. The project design team is also evaluating ways to optimize interchange improvements while minimizing disruption to environmental resources and adjacent communities. Preliminary plans and publication of the EA is anticipated in Summer 2020. Constructing the new I-25/I-80 and I-25/Lincolnway interchanges is contingent upon WYDOT securing construction funding. When funding is secured construction is anticipated to occur in three phases (see proposed construction phasing here).

Funding

The estimated cost for this project is between $207.2 million and $310.7 million This cost will be refined as design progresses. While no construction funding is currently included for this project in the 2019 State Transportation Improvement Program, WYDOT is actively engaged in identifying potential funding sources and partners to construct the project.
